What is Office Timesheets?

Office 2007 Style Interface

Office Timesheets’ user-friendly interface is designed to resemble Microsoft Office 2007, so there are no hidden menus or sub-menus. All available views, functions and features are exposed in groups via navigation ribbon bars, which translates into instant user acceptance. Office Timesheets' Security Policies determine what ribbon bars and ribbon groups are exposed to each user, so users only see what they are supposed to see.

AJAX Architecture

Office Timesheets is developed using Microsoft's latest and most sophisticated web development platform architecture, ASP .NET AJAX. This unique aspect of Office Timesheets allows for many features, including the ability of Office Timesheets to run on both Windows (Internet Explorer and Firefox) and Macintosh (Firefox) platforms with no differences in features.

Hosted vs. Installed

Office Timesheets is available in two versions: hosted (Office Timesheets On Demand) and self-installed (Office Timesheets). Both versions offer the same application features, but are different in many other ways. Your organization's size and technical capabilities will determine which version is right for you.

System Configuration

The Office Timesheets System Configuration tab contains the functions that control timesheet entry options; configuration for an email account for alerts and notifications; auditing options and management; regional/geographic display options; user account and security policies management; security policies; and password management.

Process Management

Office Timesheets’ Process Management tab holds the features and functions for customizing and configuring most of your Office Timesheets interface elements and fields. Define employees, elements, element items, and expenses; as well as holidays, approval process, reporting periods; and much more to fit your organization's policies and procedures.

View Sheets

The Office Timesheets View Sheets tab's features will be the most widely-used among employees. This tab includes the necessary functions for entering tasks, time entries and expense entries into an employee's sheets; as well as switching sheet views. The View Sheets tab also houses the approval process functions for submitting timesheets, etc.

Import/Export

Office Timesheets' Import/Export tab holds the functions needed to import and export your project data between Office Timesheets and other applications using CSV files. Not only can you import and export generic data this way, but Office Timesheets integrates with Microsoft Project as well to offer comprehensive consolidation of your data.

Reports

The Office Timesheets Reports tab contains the features necessary to generate time and expense related reports. The Summary Reports engine generates spreadsheet-style reports based on specified data, while the Detail Reports engine creates more customized reports for more advanced users.
